Monitoring Severe Illness in Obstetric Cases

Attention Health Care Providers:
The California Department of Health is working closely with the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) to monitor severe influenza infection in pregnant and postpartum women.  If you are caring for any pregnant or immediately postpartum (within 6 weeks of delivery) women who either die or are admitted to an intensive care unit for treatment of any type of influenza, please email Dr. Janice Louie at swineflureport@cdph.ca.gov to report the case.  This important public health effort cannot succeed without your help!
