Christopher Krawczyk, PhD

Chief, Epidemiology and Program Development; CDPH, MCAH

Dr. Christopher Krawczyk is Chief of the Epidemiology and Program Development Section in the California Department of Public Health (CDPH), Maternal, Child and Adolescent Health (MCAH) Division.  As Chief of the Epidemiology and Program Development Section, Dr. Krawczyk oversees vital statistics analyses and geospatial analyses for programs administered by the MCAH Division; oversees research, analyses, and program evaluations related to perinatal outcomes, maternal morbidity, and maternal mortality; oversees MCAH data operations including data standardization, data linkage/integration and information exchange, and data system development, implementation, and maintenance.  Dr. Krawczyk also oversees program evaluation for the Adolescent Family Life Program and the Black Infant Health Program; and represents the Center for Family Health on the CDPH Data Policy Advisory Committee. 

 

Prior to his current position, Dr. Krawczyk was Chief of the HIV Prevention Research and Evaluation Section in the CDPH, Office of AIDS; a Research Scientist also with the CDPH, Office of AIDS; and was a Project Coordinator with the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, Division of HIV/AIDS Prevention, Epidemiology Branch.  Dr. Krawczyk received his Ph.D. in Epidemiology from the University of Alabama at Birmingham, his M.P.H. in Epidemiology from Emory University, and his B.S. in Microbiology from Auburn University.
