Christine Morton, PhD

Program Manager/Research Sociologist; Stanford University

Christine Morton is a sociologist whose research has focused on advocacy and information roles in maternity care, including the emerging role of the doula, or labor support provider, and childbirth educators.  She received funding from Lamaze International to do an ethnographic study of childbirth education from 2005-2007.  Christine is committed to improving maternity care through both research and policy.  Her work with CMQCC will be to manage the work of the CA-PAMR committee and the LMCQI projects funded by the state.  She will also be writing grants for collaborative research with other social scientists that support the goals and mission of CMQCC.
