Photo Dodi Gauthier, RNC, is a registered nurse, diploma educated, with a BSN and a M.Ed. Ms. Gauthier has been an L&D nurse since 1977 and is currently the Coordinator of Perinatal Education and Maternal Transport at Cottage Hospital in Santa Barbara. Extremely active in the Association of Women's Health, Obstetric and Neonatal Nursing (AWHONN), she is completing a four-year term on the Board of Directors. Ms. Gauthier also is a member of the Community Health Advisory Council for the March of Dimes, a member of the National Perinatal Association, Sigma Theta Tau, and the Perinatal Information System User Group (PISUG). Ms. Gauthier served as the associate editor of the Mosby Pocket Guide to Fetal Monitoring and Assessment, the 5th edition, and was a contributor and reviewer for the 4th edition. Ms. Gauthier is passionate about pregnancy and birth and loves all the roles she plays particularly that as a staff nurse in labor and delivery. She feels a strong sense of obligation to further both the practice of nursing and the care of pregnant women in the Santa Barbara community and loves teaching both consumers and community groups. She is fortunate to provide education to paramedics, EMTs, and firefighters in the area regarding caring and transporting pregnant women. When she is not assisting women in labor or teaching, you can find her reading at a nearby Starbucks, traveling, or cheering for her beloved Green Bay Packers (she is a stockholder!).
