It’s safe to say that Brenda Chagolla RNC, MSN, CNS, loves moms and babies. In her role, Brenda is in charge of leading several initiatives to ensure those new babies and their mothers have the safest birth experience possible.  Currently, Brenda is working on system-wide initiatives that focus on Perinatal Medication Safety and Sponge Accounting.  She also manages the CHW Perinatal Safety Improvement Coalition which is a multidisciplinary team focusing on perinatal safety.  In addition Brenda provides bedside care to laboring women in a tertiary high-risk hospital..

Brenda received her Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees from San Jose State University.  She completed a post Master’s Clinical Nurse Specialist Program at University of California, San Francisco.  Brenda is also certified as an AWHONN fetal monitoring, NRP, and ACLS instructor.

“Providing evidence-based, quality perinatal care should be the foundation for every perinatal department and healthcare professional.”
