Judith Chung, Md, PhD

Photo Judith H. Chung, MD, PhD is currently an Assistant Professor of Clinical Obstetrics and Gynecology at the University of California, Irvine.  Dr. Chung received her medical degree from the University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine.  She completed her residency training in Obstetrics and Gynecology at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania and subspecialty training in Maternal Fetal Medicine at the University of California, Irvine.  She is board-certified in both disciplines.  

During her Maternal Fetal Medicine fellowship, Dr. Chung became interested in clinical research design and execution, which led her to pursue additional training in Health Services Research and Epidemiology at the University of California, Los Angeles.  She has since been awarded a doctoral degree in Health Services.  Dr. Chung's current research lies in the area of perinatal health services research, as it pertains to the ethnic disparities in birth outcomes and to the allocation of health services for high-risk pregnant women and their newborns.  Dr. Chung is also dedicated to resident and fellow training and received the 2008 faculty teaching award from the Obstetrics and Gynecology residents at University of California, Irvine.
