Linda V. Walsh, CNM, PhD, FACNM, obtained her nursing degree from the University of Connecticut, her Masters of Public Health/ Certificate in Nurse-Midwifery from The John Hopkins University and her PhD from the University of Pennsylvania School of Nursing. Dr. Walsh's dissertation topic was the “Historical Analysis of Midwifery Care 1910-1940.” Currently, Linda is a tenure Associate Professor at the University of San Francisco School of Nursing. Dr. Walsh also works part time as a Staff Clinician at Gardner Family Health Network in San Jose, California and Staff nurse-midwife at Lucile Packard Children’s Hospital. In 2002, Dr. Walsh became a Fellow of the American College of Nurse-Midwives, and was also awarded the ACNM Journal of Nurse-Midwifery Book of the Year Award.
