Leslie Cragin, CNM, PhD, FACNM, LCAN.  She received her Master of Science from UCSF/UCSD Intercampus and her PhD from UCSF School of Nursing.

Dr. Cragin's areas of interest are obstetric outcomes, midwifery, vulnerable populations and optimality. Her research interests include the health of women in vulnerable populations, specifically examining the effect of various models of clinical care on the health of women from vulnerable populations. Leslie also spends her time mentoring the nurse-midwifery faculty in the SFGH Dvision.

Neither social wealth nor technologically based interventions appear to be sufficient solutions to the problem of maternal mortality. However, because California has access to both, we have an unprecedented opportunity to investigate and to conduct rigorous and creative QI projects that hold the potential to improve maternal health on a broad scale.
