The California Health Interview Survey (CHIS) is funded by both goverment and private organizations the most comprehensive source of health information on Californians. CHIS is an important source of information on health and access to health care services. CHIS is a telephone survey of adults, adolescents, and children from all parts of the state. The survey is conducted every two years. CHIS data are used by legislators, policy makers, local health departments, state agencies, community organizations, advocacy groups, foundations, researchers, and many others.
