Lamaze International

Description/Mission:

Lamaze International is a nonprofit organization whose mission is to promote, support and protect normal birth through education and advocacy. Lamaze members and volunteers include childbirth educators, labor support specialists, lactation consultants, maternal-child nurses, midwives, physicians, physical therapists, social workers, hospital nursing managers, students and parents. Together with the Lamaze Institute for Normal Birth, Lamaze International envisions for the future a world of confident women choosing normal birth. A normal birth is one that unfolds naturally, free of unnecessary interventions.
