The Massachusetts Breastfeeding Coalition (MBC) was founded May, 1996 as a non-profit organization. It arose out of a need for a statewide coalition that would coordinate the efforts of many diverse breastfeeding advocacy groups in the Commonwealth. Our mission is to improve public health by transforming our culture: making breastfeeding the norm through education, advocacy, and collaboration. Most of MBC's activities involve helping health care providers support and promote breastfeeding. MBC's goal is help providers prevent breastfeeding problems, and recognize them and solve them easily should they occur. Materials are evidence-based, free from commercial bias, and can be downloaded from the website at no cost.
