
Gina Flores joined the CMQCC team in October 2022. She works closely with CMQCC leadership, staff, and partners to implement communications strategies that support the CQMCC mission of transforming maternity care in California through quality improvement and birth equity activities. Ms. Flores oversees strategic communications and coordinates media, community, and government relations.
Ms. Flores was born and raised in San Jose, CA and spent much of her career in Phoenix, Arizona and Washington, DC. Gina has dedicated her career to public service. She has held various communications and policy positions with nonprofits and government organizations. Previous positions include chief of staff for the Office of Health Affairs and senior advisor for public affairs at the U.S. Department of Homeland Security, Assistant to the Mayor at the City of Phoenix, policy advisor for health for Arizona Governor Janet Napolitano and community relations administrator for the Arizona Health Care Cost Containment System, Arizona’s Medicaid agency.
Gina holds a B.S., Political Science and a B.A., Broadcast Journalism from Arizona State University.
