Valerie Cape, in her role as Program Manager, has led the California Partnership for Maternal Safety (CPMS) project, a large-scale collaborative for birthing hospitals throughout the state of California to implement safety bundles for obstetric hemorrhage and preeclampsia. She is currently coordinating the efforts of the Collaborative to Support Vaginal Birth and Reduce NTSV Cesareans with several cohorts of California hospitals. Valerie has also worked facilitating the development and implementation of the 2016 Labor Support Workshops held throughout the state. She has been at CMQCC since 2008 and has been actively involved in all initiatives of the organization from the CA-PAMR mortality review to the QI collaboratives for obstetric hemorrhage and preeclampsia. Valerie was instrumental in the finalization of both the Obstetric Hemorrhage and Preeclampsia Toolkits for release. In addition, she provided research and technical assistance for other CMQCC publications and reports.
