Melinda Kent joined CMQCC as Clinical Lead in May 2023. She is a passionate perinatal leader whose interest in health promotion and advocacy, and program planning, implementation and evaluation began early in her career. She earned her BS Health Education degree in 1995. After having her children and working several years as a labor doula, she became a Labor & Delivery Registered Nurse. Melinda quickly found her love for high-risk OB patients, along with perinatal quality and process improvement. Being a life-long learner, earning her MSN with an emphasis on Nursing Education followed years later.
Prior to joining CMQCC, Melinda has been involved in numerous CMQCC QI Academies and has presented as guest faculty on ‘Sustaining Quality Improvement’. She brings a unique skillset and over two decades of experience to the organization. She chaired several hospital perinatal committees, worked five years in Clinical IT for a large non-profit hospital system supporting Perinatal Units across five states, and was the Nursing Outcomes Coordinator for a hospital just miles from Skid Row.
Melinda holds NCC certifications in Electronic Fetal Monitoring, In-Patient Obstetrics, and Obstetric & Neonatal Quality and Safety.
