Awarded to hospitals whose performance reflects an outstanding level of work that goes above and beyond the Quality and Sustainability Award eligibility criteria. In 2025, this honor is bestowed upon hospitals that either:

  • Achieved California’s Healthy People 2030 NTSV Cesarean Birth target rate of 23.6% or below for the most recent five consecutive years, i.e., Calendar Years 2020 through 2024

AND/OR

  • Have consistently maintained their target rate for their selected QI Academy quality initiative since graduating with their cohort

AND/OR

  • Met the Quality and Sustainability Award: Maternal Safety Standards Implementation criteria for both Hypertension and OB Hemorrhage
